Upcoming Meetings of the New Caucus

This year will be in an important year for the New Caucus due to the upcoming spring PSC election and the many challenges that the union faces so there will be two general New Caucus meetings this fall. We hope that you can attend both meetings!

Oct 21 NC Meeting 10-1 at the Murphy Institute (25 W 43 St). The agenda is still being set, but we hope to frame it around having a robust and productive discussion of the challenges we face as caucus and union. We will discuss the election process for the NC slate election which will take place at the Nov 18 NC meeting.
Sat. Dec. 2nd NC Meeting, 10-1 at the Murphy Institute (25 W 43 St). Election of New Caucus slate to run in PSC Spring general election. The New Caucus Governing Board will present its recommended slate to the members for their consideration. New Caucus members can self-nominate or nominate other New Caucus members to run as well. We will also elect the NC slate for AAUP/AFT delegates.  For more details on NC election rules, see our bylaws page.
Membership: Those of you are now NC members or have been members in the past can pay your dues at either of the two fall meetings or renew by mailing in check before. We encourage all of you to reach out to progressive colleagues who have been active in the union but are not New Caucus members and encourage them to join. In order for these new members to vote in the Nov New Caucus election, they must be members for at least two months prior to Nov meeting so we encourage you to reach out to people now.  To renew or join, see our dues page.

One of the main responsibilities of the the NC Governing Board is to recommend a slate for your consideration to run in the CUNY-Wide PSC election. If you are interested in being considered by the governing board, please contact Cecilia McCall at liann.mccall@gmail.com. Be sure to provide your full name, your title, and what chapter you are in. The current members can be found here.
